JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – Jakarta vice governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnamapromised to accommodate workers' demand for higher minimum wage in the province.
Ahok said that he met thousands of workers staged a rally on Wednesday (Oct 24) in front of the city hall demanding salary hike. The meeting between Ahok and workers' representatives reached thirteen points of agreement.
Ahok reportedly passed a barricade of security officers and thousands of labors to climb the stage. He then asked workers to calm down and inviting their representatives to hold a dialogue.
